What kind of weather can you fly in and what delays are likely?

To operate in low cloud coverage, we must operate with a two pilot crew.

Low winter cloud cover can cause in flight icing that would require delaying or rescheduling flights.

Snow removal generally takes longer at smaller municipal airfields then at large commercial airports.

Thunderstorm activity, if severe, may require a departure delay comparable to commercial airline delays.

What is required of a passenger?

In order to board, a valid state driver's license or United States passport must be presented and made available for inspection for each new client until that client is known to 1World Aero.  Clients will have to step onto a scale to be weighed in the office before the first air charter flight and then again once every 90 days.

When making the reservation:   Clients will have to 1)  provide the destination and estimated time of required arrival and estimated time of departure,  2) provide the number of and estimated weights of the passenger(s) (particularly for new clients),  and 3) specify if they will be bringing baggage and the estimated weight of that baggage if any.

How do I make a reservation?

After receiving a quote, please return the Travel Agreement if you would like to book your flight.  A 50% deposit is required to hold the reservation.

What if we get stranded or if the charter flight is cancelled for weather or mechanical reasons?

In the event that unforeseen weather prevent dispatch then 1World Aero will provide refund of any prepayments.  If the charter has been dispatched, but diverted and stranded due to weather 1World Aero's charges will be limited to the time flown to the current location and the expenses to reposition the airplane and crew to base.

In the event of mechanical problems preventing dispatch, then a refund or credit will be issued at the client's option for the difference between the cost of the remedy that they have chosen, and the purchase price of the air charter.  If the charter airplane is stranded for mechanical reasons, then the refund will only concern the balance of the legs to be traveled.

Regardless of the option chosen, no refund will be included for any pilot wait time already logged at the destination.   Also, 1World Aero will not refund more than the air charter purchase price.

The client may choose from the following options, based on their convenience and real time availability:

If the charter flight has not been dispatched, 1World Aero may reschedule your flight at the earliest open scheduling opportunity, or...

If the flight has been prepaid, then...

1World Aero may arrange for an alternative air charter service by an aircraft of similar size, capability, and cost, or...

1World Aero may arrange for alternate transportation by limosine service or rental car, and issue credit for such expenses up to the prepaid amount or...

1World Aero may make last minute airline reservations and issue credit for such expenses up to the prepaid amount.

What if I need to amend my schedule?

The need to amend the schedule may easily come up for a variety or reasons.   1World Aero will commit both to returning as close as practical to your estimated return time, and to making its next commercial obligation.  Therefore, any changes by the client must be coordinated in writing (and emailed to N771TR@aol.com or faxed to 301-912-1988) at the earliest practical opportunity.   Clients will not be left behind, however charges will apply if the charter airplane is not able to make its next client commitment due to a change in the air charter passenger's schedule.  Unplanned schedule adjustments impacting subsequent trip reservations will incur a fee of 25%of the already dispatched charter quote if the next charter is caused to depart late, and of 50% if the subsequent charter must be rescheduled or cancelled.  Furthermore 1World Aero maintains the option to reposition its charter airplane back to base at the client's cost should the client decide to change the return date during the trip.

What if I want to change my passenger list for the charter flight?

Changes in passengers do not affect the price, as you do not purchase a seat.  In fact you purchase the aircraft charter itself. However for weight and balance purposes, any change in passengers travelling needs to be communicated.  Additionally, any increase in the amount of baggage carried must be arranged ahead of time, and will be subject to the charter airplane's specific performance limitations.

What if I want to change my destination with short notice?

Changes in destination can also be made and the price will be revised accordingly.   The change will be refused if this conflicts with another successive charter commitment.

What if I need to cancel or rechedule my trip?

There is no charge for a cancellation unless that change is made with insufficient notice.  1World Aero's cancellation fee is 25% of the quote if cancellation is received with less than 48 hours, and 50% if the cancellation is given with less than 24 hours notice.

Clients are permitted to reschedule a given trip once without incurring the above cancelation fees.  In such cases a full refund or credit will be given at the client's option,

What if I want to overnight before coming back, or stay even longer?

1World Aero charges $25 per hour each hour at the destination until departure time.  Alternatively, you may consider purchasing two one way charters.

What if I want to cancel or reschedule because I do not feel the weather is safe or pleasant to fly in, but 1World Aero deems the conditions to be reasonable and legal?

The previously outlined cancellation and rescheduling protocols will apply.

Can I bring alcohol on board?

No more than 5 liters of alcohol may be carried, and only in sealed containers in the baggage compartment.   No passenger will be boarded who appears to be intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  Inflight access is only controlled by 1World Aero.

Can infants travel on board?

Passengers less than 2 years of age must travel in a DOT approved child seat.  Such seats are placarded with the words "DOT Approved."  Parents and guardians must provide such child seat.

Can children travel on board?

Of course, however please remember that guardians will be held  responsible for their children and their actions at all times.

Can pets travel on board?

Pets may travel on board in a client supplied cage.

Are there any passenger liabilities?

Passengers are held responsible for any damages to the aircraft, its equipment, or interior.  For dents, scratches, tears, and stains the charge is $100 per inch.  Headset replacements are at our cost of $300.  Please be careful where you step and what you hold on to.

Passenger safety

Passengers must at all times wait for crew to authorize and supervise their entry into and exit from the airplane, and must absolutely not attempt to ingress or egress while any engine is operating.  Passengers must comply with crew safety instructions to include seat belt use and smoking prohibitions.

What is the difference between a nautical and a statute mile?

One nautical mile is equivalent to 1.15 statute miles.

When is a second crewmember required?

In the case of forecasts for instrument conditions (less than 2000 foot cloud bases, and less than 5 miles visibility for planning purposes) our flights are conducted under instrument rules.  By FAA regulations, 1World Aero is required to operate with a two-pilot crew during instrument operations.  In the event of weather requiring IFR dispatch, the client may opt to reschedule for better weather at no charge, or otherwise the client will be billed for the second crew member if he or she decides to proceed with the flight.

How are your quotes determined?

The total leg distance between your point of origin and destination is measured and multiplied by a rate per nautical mile.  The fare is the same price if you are traveling by your self or you are bringing along up to four more passengers.  (Please see our rates page.)  If you are simply being dropped off, you are paying for two legs.  If you need to be dropped off and  picked up on separate days you are essentially paying for four legs.  For us, a round trip assumes that we are hired to wait on station at the destination until you are ready to leave.

Where are you located and how do I get there?

1World Aero's Mid-Atlantic Air Taxi is based at Tipton Airport, adjacent to Ft. Meade, Maryland in the Baltimore-Washington metro area.   Click here for directions.
